Abstract
Objective: To examine the effected of resistance closed kinetic chain(RCKC) exercise and General closed kinetic chain(GCKC) exercise on balance and gait ability of hemiplegic patient with stroke and to compare their effectes.

Method: therty two hemiplegic patient with stroke were randomly assigned to either an RCKC group of 16 patient or a GCKC group of 16 patients. The RCKC group and GCKCl group was given exercise for 30minutes. each session and exercise program was performed five timed a week for eight weeks. The subjects`¡¯s TUG, BBS, FGA, velocity, cadence, single Lim support, double limb support were measured. To compared differences within each group and difference between the two group, Repeated Measure ANOVAs were used.

Result: Both group improved in TUG, BBS, FGA, velocity, cadence, single limb support, double lim support. The RCKC group was improved more than the GCKC group in all variables.

Conclusion: RCKC group was supplied a stability to lower extremity and was facilitated more functional muscle contraction for gait. It can be used as an effective treatement method for improving the balance and gait ability of hemiplegic patient with stroke.
